This shark pendant features an ethically sourced moonstone and is enameled by hand.
The shark was first carved from jewelers wax and cast with sterling silver using the lost wax method. Then they are hand painted with glass enamel.
The glass enamel starts as a fine powder and is sifted in layers onto the silver base and fired at high temperatures in a kiln. The lines are then painted with a painting enamel that is also fired in a kiln. Each ring goes through at least 10 firings to achieve the desired look. Vitreous enamel is not affected by exposure to water or UV light, so the colors will last you for years to come.
The pendants come on a 17 inch/ 43 cm chain.
